You think for a moment and then declare: "Well, indeed, it can be said we have no good idea of the true nature of anything." The professor then looks intrigued by your comment, so you are encouraged to continue:

 "For... what we get from the senses is only a limited amount of information to gather. We are fundamentally limited here. What we need to realize is, when we look at this room, that this room does not exist... at least not in the way in we perceive it. What we see is only a symbol for what is there. An icon. When we forget that what we see is just a representation of what is there, we are giving ourselves a false impression. But, to think..." The professor stops you in mid-sentence and says "Young man, your knowledge of the world has impressed me. Please come to our humble academic gathering being held at IHOP... we will be reviewing perspective professors for this institution while discussing the application of maple syrup to flattened cake meal."
