With the benefit of hindsight, I think I took this entrance from the "Princess Bride," specifically, the entrance of Miracle Max's wife. Certainly the ghosts' relationship owes a bit to William Goldman's characters. (This is probably the earliest example of me stealing from Goldman; the heavy larceny didn't come until later in my life.)
