Getting an appointment with the Provost became something of a running joke during Roger Kasperson's tenure in that esteemed office. Attempts at talking to him generally went exactly as written here-- minus the attempt to search his office. Things changed fairly dramatically-- and for the better-- when Fred Greenaway took over as Provost in 1997.
